Win Lyovarin is a not only a good author but also a talented marketer.  His latest book A Day in a Life, a collection of short  stories  published in the teenager magazine A Day, shows this quite well. With an intensive background in advertising, the noted author knows well how to adapt his writing style to appeal to the new generation.  Instead of expressing social issues with text alone, A Day in a Life also comes with attractive graphics designed to introduce teenagers to the book (if not literary) world.The understandable information is presented in 55 short stories focusing on challenges facing Thai society.  Once story addresses corruption in the vast governmental bureaucracy.  In other stories, a poor boy steals money to buy a hamburger, and a traffic police fights to over come lung cancer. In this book, the 1997 Sea Write Award winner for the book Prachathipatai Bon Senkhanan (Democracy, Shaken & Stirred) goes far in using short stories that together form a broader tale describing the basic problems Thailand is trying to overcome.
